CHIROPRACTIC

Chiropractic is a primary healthcare profession specializing in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of conditions related to the joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves of the body. With a minimum of 7 years of post-secondary education, chiropractors have over 4500 hours of academic and clinical training in courses such as anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, neurology, pathology, radiology and rehabilitation.

As experts of the musculoskeletal system, chiropractors provide evidence-based care and effective treatment plans to help alleviate pain, improve function and enhance the quality of life. At Edge Health our chiropractors take the time to develop individualized treatment plans which may consist of joint manipulations and mobilizations, soft tissue therapies, and active rehabilitation techniques that best suit you and your treatment goals.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your first chiropractic visit will begin with a comprehensive review of your health history. You and your chiropractor will discuss details of your general health as well as your chief complaint(s) bringing you into the clinic. Your chiropractor will ask questions to help determine what is going on in your body and how they can best support you.

The health history review will be followed by a physical exam. Your chiropractor will guide you through some postural assessment, ranges of motion, orthopaedic, neurological and functional tests as well as some muscle and joint palpation. At this point, your chiropractor will be able to deliver to you a diagnosis and determine the best plan of management for you going forward!
