6 ways to incorporate protein powder into your breakfast

1) 1 scoop in your smoothies, which can also be frozen into popsicles for kids!

2) 1 spoon mixed in a yogurt container

3) 1 spoon sprinkled over warm oatmeal

4) 1 spoon sprinkled over cold cereal

5) 1 scoop in pancake batter

6) 1 scoop in muffin batter

“You can mix more or less protein powder into any of these breakfast options. I like using vanilla
flavoured protein powder, but natural flavour is great too, especially when you are mixing in
other ingredients like fruit or veggies. Chocolate protein powder can be used too to make a fun
breakfast treat that is still nutritious.”

Getting enough protein is especially important around the holidays and in the cold, winter months.  Protein helps to balance your blood sugar to keep you satisfied during the day and it prevents you from going for those simple carbs, like sweets.  Protein also plays a crucial role in building and repairing tissues, including immune cells. During winter, when colds and flu are more common, having enough protein can help keep your immune system strong.
